Social Media: It’s *Relating,* People

iStock_000007871522XSmallOne of my new favorite blogs I follow is by Liz Strauss, a social media role model.  She gets this relationship thing.  She launched a challenge today to put 25 words of Social Media advice or wisdom into a blog post.

My pet peeve right now is people(?) talking at me, and not with me.  Relating is the next big thing.  Okay, not that new, but it obviously is not on some people’s screen. I love that Liz limited it to 25 words.  Made me be thoughtful and clear, for those who are not yet clear… here’s my 25:

Tell me something that’s real.
Don’t assume you know what I need.
Engage with me first please.  I mean, really, engage.
(read: goes both ways.)
